On our way home. Tired but happy 😄

Smiles all round

Final adventure- fossil hunting

We went in search of seasauruses (sea vertebrates). After 199 steps down we had focused our resolve...

In the end we found half an ammonite! So we had celebratory sandwiches before heading back up the steps

Sketches are coming on nicely

These lovely works of art will be framed when finished as part of our Cober HIll assembly

Billies

Beau's
Tom's

The hunt is on

They have ten minutes to find all the clues

The treasure hunt begins

Each team is plotting the clues for their fiendish treasure hunt around the abbey. Once it is set out, they will follow the other teams trail to try and win the prize.

Whitby abbey

After getting familiar with the abbeys history we chose our favorite image of the abbey and got settled into sketching.

Eclipse experiments

We were so lucky, the cloud parted and we got 3 different glimpses of the eclipse as it progressed.

We got some interesting result to our air temperature tests.

Crab fishing

This turned out to be the highlight of the day- never has there been as much pantomime as there was on our fishing adventure.

Keep an eye on this one...

The new queen of crab fishing- well done you! 2 caught and 3 near misses
First crab
Second crab
We also had a few crab fishing tales... It was this big (actually it was it fell off right at the last moment)
Another super near miss (same crab 2 times) but she's taking it well
We all agree that for fishing tips, this is our guru- a fab end to the day

Whitby museum

A genuinely interesting place- we look forward to telling you all about it in our cober hill assembly

Never too old for a good park

Pannet parks newest addition was a fab find. Musical floors, climbing walls and a range of fab activities
